KIZAZI MOTO: GENERATION FIRE - MUKUDZEI, Hungwe Design

I had the honor of working on Episode 6 of the Disney+ sci-fi anthology, "Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire." I was assigned the very fun yet complicated task of helping develop this massive golden robot bird, the Hungwe. The short film revolved around a futuristic sci-fi version of Zimbabwe, and we were tasked to implement as much of the Zimbabwe culture into the concepts as we could. The bird itself is shaped like the Hungwe bird statues in Zimbabwe which were thought to represent the African fish eagle. I also incorporated big mural carvings in the underside of the wings, which represent many of the statues and artifacts found around "Great Zimbabwe", the ancient city that the film is referencing.
